Manager-in-Training
Take your training to new levels
when you enroll in our Manager-in-
Training (MiT) program and enjoy a
hands-on learning opportunity at
our various locations.
Manager-in-Training
- Rotate through various departments that include management,
main office, maintenance, sales operations, etc.
- Develop key leadership skills around managing performance,
entrusting responsibility, developing talent, and decision making.
- Become immersed in Sun’s award-winning culture from day one.
- Meet with a mentor outside of your direct reporting line.
- Receive continuous feedback on your daily work functions and
participate in regular formalized evaluations.
Internship Programs
We offer two internship programs at Sun.
These programs give participants the
chance to learn real-life skills and
real-world work experience on the job.
You can choose to apply for a summer
position in hospitality at one of our resorts
or in one of our corporate departments
at our main office in Southfield, Michigan.
Field Internship
- Gain exposure to management, office, maintenance, food and
beverage, activities, housekeeping, and sales operations.
- Develop leadership skills around setting expectations and
real-life experiences.
- Achieve three goals with up to two based on your personal
interests.
- Receive the support of a sponsor outside of your direct
reporting line, as well as continuous feedback on your work and
participation in two formal evaluations.
Main Office Internship
- Work with your leader to create 3-5 personal learning goals that
combine business exposure with development activities.
- Complete an internship project that you’ll present to peers and
leaders.
- Conduct 3-4 career-focused interviews with senior leaders.
- Receive the support of a sponsor outside of your direct reporting
line, as well as continuous feedback on your work and
participation in two formal evaluations.
